Get Your GMGN API Key
Wallet data is fetched from GMGN using your own API key and your own quota. The whole process takes about 2m and requires no additional tools. Before you start, make sure the extension is installed and you are signed in.
- Open the extension's Settings page (click the extension icon, then click "Settings") and find the "GMGN API Key (3 steps, ~2m)" section.
- Step 1: Click "Generate Key Pair". The extension generates a key pair in your browser — the public key is displayed and the private key stays in the extension. Click "Copy Public Key".
- Step 2: Click "Open GMGN" on the extension Settings page (or on the GMGN Key guide page), sign in to your GMGN account (or register one if you don't have an account yet), then find the API section in the top-right corner of the page and create an API key. This link is TradeGuard's referral link — the platform pays us a commission, at no extra cost to you.
- Paste the entire public key you copied, including the -----BEGIN PUBLIC KEY----- and -----END PUBLIC KEY----- lines.
- Do not enable trading / Swap permissions. After the key is created, copy the API key that GMGN generates.
- Step 3: Go back to the extension Settings page, paste the API key into the "GMGN API Key" field, and click "Save Key".
- The extension will begin collecting data for the wallets you have added on its next cycle.
"Remember Key and Key Pair (stored on this computer)" is checked by default. If you uncheck it, the browser will forget them when closed and you will need to re-enter the key and generate a new key pair next time.
If you previously created a GMGN API key using a public key you generated yourself, expand "Advanced: I Already Have My Own Key Pair (I previously created a GMGN API key with a self-generated public key)", paste the corresponding private key (beginning with -----BEGIN PRIVATE KEY-----) into the field, and click "Save This Private Key". The extension will do a test signature in your browser before saving; seed phrases, wallet private keys, and any other formats will be rejected.
