Get a GMGN API key in three steps

Wallet data comes from GMGN using your own API key and quota. It takes about two minutes and needs no extra tools.

1. Generate a key pair in the extension

Open the extension settings and click "Generate key pair" in the GMGN API key section. The extension creates a key pair in your browser: the public key is shown for you to copy, and the private key stays in the extension to sign holdings requests. Click "Copy public key".

2. Create the API key on GMGN

Click "Open GMGN" below and sign in (or sign up with it if you have no account). After signing in, find API at the top right of the page, create an API key, and paste the whole public key, including the -----BEGIN PUBLIC KEY----- and -----END PUBLIC KEY----- lines. Do not enable trading or swap permission: we only read data, so a read-only key cannot move your funds even if it leaks. Copy the API key GMGN gives you.

3. Paste the API key into the extension

Back in the extension settings, paste the API key into step 3 and click "Save key". Collection starts within a minute; current positions on the overview refresh at most every 10 minutes per wallet.

Is the quota enough?

The free GMGN tier is small (5 weight per second). The extension checks on your plan interval (every 2 minutes at most), fetches holdings last and at most every 10 minutes per wallet, and stops to wait out any rate limit. Up to three wallets usually stay within limits.
